Bettie Brand Mothers' Empowerment Fund "Spirit Award" - Candidate Application

Each year the Bettie Brand Mothers’ Empowerment Fund awards grants (not to exceed $10,000 and to be used within 3 years) to a Georgia woman 17 years or older who needs a hand up - not a handout - to help her journey toward a life of independence with dignity. The BBMEF asks the Spirit Award recipients make a commitment to ‘pay it forward’ in the future, however she is able. (Example: helping another women in need.) Directions: Please fill out Part A (Current Information) and Part B (Essay) and Part B (How The Award Will Be Used) of this online application as honestly and completely as possible. Thank you! Part B: How The Award Will Be Used Please indicate specifically how the award funds will be used, in as much detail as possible. Please review the examples of the desired level of detail in this document Examples Document before completing this section. IMPORTANT NOTE: The Spirit Award grant funds cannot be used to pay for rent, vehicle loans, rental or purchases, food purchases, or to purchase any items that do not promote the self-development of the applicant. Part B: How The Award Will Be Used.

By submitting this application you agree that, if selected as a Spirit Award recpient, the Bettie Brand Mothers' Empowerment Fund is hereby permitted to use your name, picture, and story shared for inspirational, advertising, and fundraising purposes on any platfroms or websites maintained by the organization. The applicant understands that the Bettie Brand Spirit Award funds can only be applied to services, activities, programs, etc., that are intended for the further self-development of the applicant and may not be used for the benefit of persons other than the applicant. Bettie Brand reserves the right to refuse or limit use of the award funds to purposes which it deems meet the ward criteria. The Bettie Brand Mothers' Empowerment Fund Spirit Award grant may ONLY be used within the state of Georgia.
